Creature Comforts Home Veterinary Care, a housecall practice, is now open for business.  Practice owner Dr. Marina Mansouri-Johnson will attend to dogs and cats in the comforting environment of their homes, in the lower Fairfield County area.

According to Dr. Johnson, home veterinary care provides comfort, convenience and personalized service to both pets and their owners. “A housecall practice is a great option for clients who have difficulty leaving their homes,” Dr. Johnson said, “in addition clients with multiple pets, small children and professional obligations appreciate the ease with which they can fit a home visit into a busy schedule.”

Pets also appreciate the benefits of home veterinary care. “Staying at home reduces the stress associated with a veterinary visit and pets are calmer and easier to work with when they are at home,” Dr. Johnson notes. In addition she says “housecalls are ideal for pets that do not travel well or get car sick. Housecalls are also beneficial for pets with decreased mobility.”

The ability to observe pets in their home environment can be helpful in diagnosing or managing some health conditions. Dr. Johnson explains, “Observing how pets interact with each other at home, is one example of how valuable veterinary housecalls can be in evaluating behavioral and medical problems.”

Dr. Johnson will schedule housecall appointments Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. Appointments are available in the morning, afternoon, and early evening hours. “I try to accommodate the needs and schedule of each client as much as possible, and will always try to fit in urgent or unexpected problems as they arise,” she explains.
